Practicing in How to Speed Read When you practice you acquire skills and techniques that help you achieve your goal. Oh, did I mention goal? If you want to speed read, you must set your mind, by setting a goal to speed read. Once you set your mind to speed read, you can then start-timing self. You want to factor in comprehension and time spent reading. We can consider a test or two, which can help you learn the steps to speed read.
Test: What signals does the body send as we convey messages verbally and nonverbally? Some people believe that the common "thumbs up" signal means that someone agrees with an action, theory, logic, etc. Is this true to you? Some people have their own definitions to the various signals of the body. For instance, if a woman twirls her hair, men often believe she is coming on to him, or flirting if you will. Is this true, the truth is some people have nervous disorders, which causes them to pull their hair, rather than bite their fingernails.
Time: Record your time spent reading the material.
Comprehend: Record what you understood the paragraphs to mean to you.
The comprehension of the paragraphs is relying, a message. The message is while many have their own interpretations of body signals, not each time is their understanding valid. We see that additional studies of body signals in necessary to determine what fact is and what is not factual. Is this what you achieved from the information?
Test: Beta-Carotene is a health agent, which substitutes Vitamin A. If you intake enough beta-carotene daily, you will not need Vitamin A added to your diet.
This subject should pose interest to those interested in achieving better health. Beta-carotene is an orange-colored pigment, which we can find in plants. Carotene comes from organic chemical compounds, which produce vitamin A. Accordingly, the information in the sentence if factual, which helps us to read the material fast.
Note: Many of us when spotting information in reading material that has no concrete evidence to support its claims will come to an obstacle while reading. If something you read is not true, continue reading while testing your speed time, and note the areas. If you wish to discover new information to verify what the author has written, fine, do it after you finish your tests.
Each time you read short sentences and time self, you will gradually build comprehension as well as the ability to read faster. Now, we can try another sentence, only this time I am going to give you 10 seconds to read the information. Do not panic rather take a deep breathe and read. If you do not finish the sentence, do not fret.
Title: The Child within You Subtitle: Your "Inner Child" All of us have a child within, which sometimes hinders us from achieving our goals. At times, we go through changes, which we cannot define. Stop: What did you do first? If you read the title and subtitle, you started on the right foot, since you would have gained meaning of the topic. For instance, the title "The child within you," lets you know that you have an inner youngster, which requires you to discover. The subtitle lets you know the same meaning. Now, after diving into the sentence you may have discovered that our inner youngster sometimes hinders us from achieving. We see that emotions, subconscious, and more are involved in finding our inner youngster. Now, continue practicing until you feel at ease with your reading speed.
